Lightroom on a portable USB drive
Up until now I have been using a WesternDigital Passport drive to manage a portion of my photos when I am on the go. Recently I have reached some size threshold in the LR database for which there is a performance penalty being paid on the 5200 rpm Passport. As I see it I can either reduce the size of the library that I carry around or look for a more optimal solution. Reducing the size seems a hassle.
I intend to test out the Lacie Rugged All-Terrain Drive. From the specs, this drive supports FireWire 800 and is 7200rpm. I'll report back when the drive comes in and I've transfered my library over to it.
